Lucrarea "Clinical evidence for genomic imprinting in bipolar I disorder" (Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica, 1995, 92, 365-370) inclusa in patentul nr. 6.998.235 (Kennedy si Muglia) (SUA, 2006) referitor la metoda de determinare a vulnerabilitatii genetice pentru boala bipolara (maniaco-depresiva), care permite pentru prima data in istoria psihiatriei evaluarea biologica a riscului de boala bipolara pentru un subgrup de familii.
3) Realizarea in colaborare cu dr. Dan Christodorescu a primului si singurului studiu national de epidemiologie a bolilor psihice la copii si adolescenti in Romania pe un esantion national de 15.300 subiecti (Proiectul Centaur al ASM, 1981-1984).

• bolile afective majore (boala maniaco-depresiva; depresia majora unipolara);
• tulburarile alimentare (in special anorexia nervosa);
• psihopatologia dezvoltarii (precursorii bolilor psihice majore la copii si adolescenti si dezvoltarea tulburarilor de personalitate);
